Ellen’s Story
I grew up an avid athlete, trying almost every sport available to me. I loved to move. In Middle School and High School I noticed that I was often the only female in the school weight room. I didn’t care. It felt good to be strong, good to move, and helped build confidence on the field and in my every day life. I continued on at the University of Vermont, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Food Science, and a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. Two great “life” degrees.
I love teaching others how to move properly, how to feel better and work through injuries, and to be able to move through life without having to think about it. I have advanced certifications and training in women’s health, peripartum care (pregnancy, postpartum), oncology care (exercise during and after cancer treatments). I have been working in the healthcare field for 15 years and have been a coach of all ages from youth to college level. I am thrilled to collaborate with the Strong Girls United Foundation which so closely aligns with my mission to empower as many females as possible through exercise.
